Can I use a course which has been measured for another organiser's race ?
The short answer is yes. But the longer answer is you need to do the following:
- First out of politeness, if nothing else, approach the organiser of the race and discuss your plans. He might quite reasonably raise objections if it appeared to him that a poorly organised event could result in authorities banning the use of the route for his future events.
- Assuming that you have the cooperation of the organiser, ask him if he will let you have a copy of the course measurer's report. You need this in order to make sure you follow exactly the route originally measured. If you want to make changes to the route you will then have to have your course measured.
- If there are no changes, then you can get a certificate of course accuracy for your race using the original course. You need to use the renewal page. Enter the course number and the renewal code. You will find the renewal code on page 2 of the certificate which is issued to the orignal race director. The renewal code is also obtainable from the area measurement secretary, or from .
