Terrain Undulating, with a testing hill at 1.5 miles after the start and a number of further hills in the final few miles 
Surface Town streets for the first mile, then all country roads. Short section of rough farm track 500 yards just before 26 mile mark. 
Configuration Point to point 
Section of Road First mile in Kirkwall, full width of road. Then until just short of 1 mile, pavement and cycle track. Final 25 miles all on road, except on A965, where pavements are available.When using the road, runners should keep to the right hand side facing oncomi 
Right Turns Runners to keep to the right-hand side of road.
