Surface The first and last mile within the town is in a residential area, the remaining 8 miles are on quiet country lanes, none off road 
Configuration The course is a straightforward out and back route, turning at 5 miles 
Section of Road Runners should keep left when running out, on the return they run on the right-hand side, on the pavement where necessary in the built-up area 
Right Turns The route follows left turns out, on the return runners should be directed to cut the corners on right turns, these are on quiet country lanes
